Ishmel Griffith, a 21-year-old musician and songwriter with a passion for creating music, connects with people. He has been publishing his music for the past four years, and it’s been an incredible journey so far. Growing up, surrounded by diverse musical influences, he developed a love for Soca, R&B, Reggae, Soul, Gospel and Calypso.
One of the highlights of his early career was participating in the Junior Calypso & Soca Monarch competition, which was a fantastic opportunity for him to showcase his talent and gain experience on a bigger stage. It helped him realize that music is not just something he does for fun—it’s his calling.
As a songwriter, Ishmel poured his heart into every song he wrote. His lyrics were often inspired by his personal experiences, the culture of his home country, Guyana, and the world around him. He strived to create music that resonates with listeners, no matter where they’re from.
Looking ahead, his ultimate goal is to become an international artist, representing Guyana on the global stage. He wants his music to transcend borders and connect with people all over the world. He is just getting started, but is excited for what’s to come and determined to keep growing, both as an artist and as a person.
